A Contemplative Prayer Group for Men
Too often, we make decisions about how we are going to live our lives based on external appearances — how we look and what we can get. We think in categories:
- How will this look to my spouse, my family, friends, and co-workers?
- Will this make me more secure or less financially secure?
- Is this too risky or is the potential reward greater than the risk?
These questions are fundamentally rooted in the external world of acquisition and appearances. There is a strong pull to live for this life, but each of us has an entirely different life that isn’t observable by spectators. This is our hidden life with God. We dwell in this hidden world and inhabit our hidden life in Christ.
“Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too—the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ.” Col. 3:3-4, MSG
This group is aimed at exploring the hidden life we live with Christ in God by practicing contemplative prayers that help us to enter and receive what we discover there. Inquire about the group by sending an email via the button below.
